Nashville Crispy Halloumi Burger

Perfectly meeting the demand for innovative dining options, especially among the Gen-Z and millennial demographic, Halloumi is ready to steal the spotlight as the star of your next vegetarian burger.


  • 250 ml Buttermilk
  • 25 ml Hot Sauce
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 pinch Salt & Pepper 
  • 1 Halloumi Patty each
  • 100 g AP Flour
  • 6 tsp Cayenne Pepper (total)
  • 2 tbsp Paprika (total)
  • 1½  tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Chili Flakes
  • 1 cup Canola Oil
  • 1 Brioche Bun each
  • 3 slices Sweet Pickles
  • 50 g Sweet Creamy Coleslaw


  1. Mix up the marinade and add halloumi patty and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Combine all of the spicy dredge ingredients in a bowl and set aside
  3. Mix the wet mop dry ingredients together in a bowl and set aside
  4. Take halloumi out of the fridge, allow excess marinade to drip off and thoroughly coat in the hot flour mix. Return to the marinade and then again in the dry mix, then once more into wet then dry. Rest on parchment lined tray.
  5. Deep fryer for 3-5 minutes, turning periodically, the breading should have a golden colour.
  6. Add 250ml of the hot oil into the wet mop spice mix and combine well.
  7. Brush the crispy patty thoroughly on both sides with the wet mop. 
  8. Place creamy sweet coleslaw on the bottom bun, add the Nashville Crispy Halloumi and top off with pickles and the top of the bun
