Spicy Korean pizza with Mozzarina di Bufala cheese


Customers love dishes that feature cultural fusion. This pizza inspiration’s dominant flavour comes from its spicy Korean-inspired sauce, followed by garlicky sweetness and acidity. Brush the crust with olive oil and a layer of korean sauce (Gochujang sauce, ketchup, sesame oil, sugar, water, sesame seeds and rice vinegar), then top it with cooked ground beef, cooked spinach, sautéed carrots, and sautéed shiitake mushrooms. When the pizza is halfway done, crack an egg on top and add chunks of Mozzarina di Bufala cheese before putting it back in the oven, then add sesame seeds and more sauce right before serving. The initial spice and garlic will quickly be toned down by the cheese’s creaminess and the yolk’s richness.

For delivery, omit the egg or replace it with a soft boiled egg. Since the sauce and toppings are minimal, it makes for a great thin crust pizza, but you can also make it thicker for a more substantial dish. For an extra special twist, try experimenting with Manchego cheese, Bocconcini cheese, cheese curds, or Pizza Mozzarella cheese.
