How to get started on social media

WHAT ARE YOUR 3 BEST PIECES OF ADVICE FOR RESTAURANT OWNERS WHO WANT TO GET STARTED ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

#1 Choose Instagram

Three pieces of advice… well first, if you have to choose only one channel, choose Instagram. It’s visual, which is perfect for restaurants. Your greatest asset is your food, and Instagram will let it shine.

#2 Be strategic with your post

The next one would be: be strategic with your posts. Share pictures of your most popular meals a few hours before dinner, when people are deciding what to eat. If you want to go one step further, drop in a few pictures of your restaurant and staff to make your brand more relatable.

#3 Get customers involved

And last, but not least: get customers involved! Create a short and simple hashtag that’s easy to remember, then encourage people to use it. You can add it to your menu, your social media bio, and tag your posts with it. Once customers start to use it, engage with them by sharing your favourite photos on your page.

Remember: the most important thing is putting your business out there. Don’t be shy – share your passion!
