4 snacking menu ideas for game night

Major sporting events are the perfect occasion for an evening among friends: they’re an opportunity for customers to have fun with their crew and indulge in some delicious eats. Create classic menus that will give your customers the ultimate game time experience as they happily dig into some great food!

To start, you’ll need to adapt your menu to suit the occasion. Consider offering smaller-portioned versions of your main dishes, and include a little insert or card inside the menu itself explaining that people can order certain mains in snacking or sharing sizes. You can also add new items to the menu, specifically dishes that use cheese, which is one of the most popular ingredients for these types of events!

Get inspired by our huge assortment of cheeses and dairy products to create delicious snacking and sharing plates. To start, here are four recipe ideas:

1 - Pulled pork nachos

There’s nothing better than a classic to start the night off right. A plate of pulled pork nachos is perfect for sharing with friends. For guaranteed success, you can serve up a spicy option using our Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeño or get inspired with one of our other cheeses to create a version all your own. Then, experiment with toppings to your heart’s content!

2 - Fried bocconcini bites

Bocconcini cheese is easy to use and pairs well with almost any ingredient. It adds a unique and refreshing touch to recipes, making it the ideal addition to your menu. It’s perfect for an appetizer or sharing menu. It can be coated with breadcrumbs, lemon zest, garlic, oregano, and thyme (or a mix of your favourite herbs), then fried for a melty snack menu item that is sure to please hungry customers.

Bocconcini cheese can also be used as a cocktail garnish! Check out our suggestion for Caesar cocktails with caprese brochettes.

3 - Pizza bombs

Restaurants that serve pizza can easily add pizza balls to their snacking menu, and extra old cheddar cheese is excellent for the “mini bite” version of one of the most popular dishes in Canada. This menu inspiration calls for pizza dough stuffed with cheese and classic toppings, like pepperoni, onions, and peppers, or more gourmet options like prosciutto.

4 - Fish tacos

Wow your customers with this fish taco recipe idea using habanero white cheddar cheese. This spicy cheese, featuring a buttery flavour and a satisfying stretchy texture, is great with grilled fish and avocado slices served in a taco. Add some lime and Sriracha mayonnaise and jalapeño peppers for a dish as fresh as it is spicy!
